LINE TRAVEL PRIME AND TAPE MACHINE
MODEL PTL

The Incal Prime and Tape Machine is intended to apply primer followed by polyethylene or similar tape to line pipe which has been cleaned by HydroKleaning, and its surface prepared by air abrasive blasting or mechanical shot blasting.

The swing-open design, allowing quick and easy line mounting and removal, makes the unit particularly suitable for bellhole work. However, because it is a line travel machine, the PTL can also be used for main line work.

When working in bellholes, the machine is equipped with two tape arms: one for inner tape and the other for outer tape. This configuration is ideal for slower operation. When used on main line operations, the PTL can be reconfigured to accept up to four rolls of tape, each with a maximum weight of 77 lb (35 kg). This provides the equivalent of a 9 in X 400 ft (23 cm X 122
m) roll of tape for longer continuous operation. Top photo shows an electric drive PTL applying tape over primer.
